Summary

Harrow Sweet is a relatively new variety of pear that has proven to be high-performance over the past 20 years. In this article, the authors provide results obtained recently in tree management changes (designed to improve the calibre of the fruit) and in ripening following storage. In comparison, within the framework of this study and using the same "storage at 0 deg C for 3 weeks postharvest" protocol, the first senescent Williams pears appeared following 10 days of storage.
