Summary

The incidence and extent of severely injured tubers of potatoes cv. Russet Burbank were examined. The susceptibility of the tubers to severe injury significantly increased after the 3rd week from date of desiccant (diquat) application. Likewise, severe injury of tubers was increased when they were handled at 1-5 deg C compared with 20 deg C.
