Summary

RELATIVE WATER CONTENT, PROTEIN, PROLINE AND ASCORBIC ACID IN B. JUNCEA CALLUS EXPOSED TO WATER, SALT, AND FREEZING STRESS WERE ESTIMATED. RELATIVE WATER CONTENT DECLINED AND PROLINE ACCUMULATED UNDER ALL THE 3 STRESSES. WATER AND SALT STRESS RESULTED IN DECREASE IN PROTEIN AND ASCORBIC ACID CONTENT. DURING FREEZING STRESS PROTEIN WAS NOT SIGNIFICANTLY AFFECTED BUT THERE WAS ACCUMULATION OF ASCORBIC ACID.
