Summary

In this study, Tufts and Vista strawberry varieties were used in cold storage trials. Strawberries were harvested at optimal eating quality and packed in 250 g trays. Three different trays (plastic, cardboard and polystyrene foam) covered with perforated polyethylene and stretch film were used. Samples were placed in a store at 0 °C and 85% relative humidity and analyzed over a 10-day period (3, 7 and 10 days). It was demonstrated that these varieties can be stored for 10 days in plastic trays covered with stretch film at 0 °C and 85% relative humidity.
