'Italy' and 'Ruby' grapes conservation under different package and refrigerated storage.

Summary

The effects of different packing strategies on the quality of the grape cultivars 'Italy' and 'Ruby' under cold storage were investigated. The treatments were: 1) no packing; 2) polyethylene sack; and 3) polyvinyl chloride film. Data were recorded for total titratable acidity, total soluble solids, external appearance and berry fall percentage. 'Italy' showed better external appearance and lower berry fall percentage than 'Ruby'. The packing treatments had no significant effects on the postharvest quality of both cultivars.
