Summary

The storage behaviour of various banana varieties was compared (in particular their response to temperature and modified atmospheres). The temperature of 13 deg C gives good results. Modified atmosphere doubles storage time without ethylene absorbent, and triples it when an absorbent (potassium permanganate on aluminium oxide) is applied. Results are presented, particularly as they differ from one variety to another.
