Summary
The coefficients of heat transfer augmentation and pressure drop penalty have been proposed for the estimation of the efficiency of heat transfer rate augmentation during flow boiling of refrigerants. The proposed methodology has been applied for own experimental results of boiling of the R22, R134a and R407C inside selected tubes of enhanced heat transfer surface. The reported results showed that the low finned tube is more efficient for boiling heat transfer in comparison with the spirally fluted tube. The experimental investigations were carried out for pure refrigerants as well as mixtures of refrigerants and lubricating oils.
