Elf Atochem and the substitution of R22.
Elf Atochem et la substitution du R22.

Type of article: Article
Summary
R22 will be banned in 2030 and is likely to be as soon as 2015. Its substitution in air conditioning will comprise 3 steps for Elf-Atochem: 1) Continuation of the use of R22 while it is authorized, that is to say about 20 years. 2) Development of a substitute aimed at new installations and at existing installations after conversion and that must therefore have the nearest thermodynamic performances to R22. 3) Development of a substitute including better thermodynamic performances than that of R22, which will call for a significant adaptation of the equipment.
