IN ALL THE INDUSTRIALIZED COUNTRIES, THE REFRIGERATION INDUSTRY MAINTAINS AN IMPORTANT POSITION, IN RELATION TO THE VALUE OF THE MACHINES MANUFACTURED AS WELL AS THE PRODUCTS PROCESSEDAND THE ENERGY USED. CHILLING IS ONE OF THE VARIOUS PRESERVATION TECHNOLOGIES. CONTRARY TO WHAT IS BELIEVED, THIS TECHNOLOGY IS NOT THE MOST EXPENSIVE FROM THE ENERGY POINT OF VIEW. THE MEASURES FOR ENERGY SAVINGS IN INDUSTRIAL CHILLING PLANTS CAN BE VERY EFFICIENT, ESPECIALLY IF THE INSTALLATION AND OPERATING COSTS ARE CORRECTLY ALLOCATED.
