Summary

IN PROVIDING THE WORLD POPULATION WITH FOOD, REFRIGERATION AND FREEZING TECHNIQUES PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE. THE CHIEF POSSIBILITIES OF UTILIZING FREEZING ARE DISCUSSED IN DETAIL IN VIEW OF THE PRESENT SITUATION AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENT. THE MAIN FIELDS OF UTILIZATION OF FOOD PRODUCTION, REDUCTION OF LOSSES OCCURRING IN FOOD PRODUCTION, CONTROL OF SEASONAL FLUCTUATION, INTERNATIONAL FOOD MARKETING, FISH PROCESSING INDUSTRY AND QUICK-FREEZING OF FOODS, ARE DISCUSSED. THE FINAL CONCLUSIONS OF THIS INVESTIGATION ARE THAT, IN THE FUTURE, THE WORLD CAN BE PROVIDED WITH FOOD ONLY BY THE EXTENSION OF THE REFRIGERATED FOOD CHAIN.
