Energy cascading complex in absorption cycle and a novel ammonia-water power-cooling cycle.

Author(s) : ZHENG D., QI Y., WANG J.

Summary

Based on the concept of exergy analysis, the thermodynamic principle of energy cascading complex of sub-cycles in an absorption cycle was studied. An improved power-cooling cycle with working medium ammonia-water (APCII) was proposed. The running modes of power/cooling cycle and power cycle can be switched by adjusting the exit pressure of turbine to suit the need of different situation and different time period. The thermal efficiency and exergy efficiency of power running mode are respectively increased by 6.70 and 4.54% comparing with the Kalina cycle, shown by the cycle simulation for energy cascading relation between the complex power cycle and cooling cycle. And the thermal efficiency and exergy efficiency of power/cooling combined mode are respectively increased by 40.37 and 2.40% comparing with the combination running mode of Kalina cycle and the single-stage ammonia-water absorption refrigeration cycle.
