ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN THE REFRIGERATING PLANT OF A COLD STORE.

Author(s) : COLDING L.

Summary

THE AUTHOR MADE CALCULATIONS ON A DYNAMIC MODEL OF A 50,000 M3 COLD STORE. OUTDOOR CONDITIONS VARY BETWEEN AVER-AGE TEMPERATURES OF 291 AND 270 K (18 AND -3 DEG C). AUTOMATION IS MODELLED WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF PROCESSES. WHEN SUCTION PRESSURES ARE ALLOWED TO RISE ENERGY CONSUMPTION IS REDUCED. SCREW COMPRESSORS HAVE HIGH ENERGY CONSUMPTION AT PARTIAL LOAD. BY USING EITHER 100% OR 0% CAPACITIES, CONSUMPTION IS REDUCED BY 3%.
