Energy for tomorrow's world: acting now!
Author(s) : WEC
Type of monograph: Report
Summary
The purpose of this statement is to examine what has happened since the same report had been published in 1993. Some WEC members believe that the energy sector is not currently on a sustainable path while others believe that, if the energy sector is evolving on a sustainable path, it could move along it more quickly. Both opinions converge in a strong consensus that new policy departures and remedial action are needed. The statement focuses on 2020 even though WEC's latest studies and regional and technical work already encompass longer term scenarios for 2050 or even 2100. The text of this book is also available on WEC's website (see above).
