Energy management in a cold store.

Summary
The study has resulted in the development of a model able to diagnose the energy consumption in a refrigerating plant and to evaluate the potential energy savings, following an action. The principle of the model is based on the establishment of an overall energy balance for the plant, together with the calculation of the global and specific energy performance characteristics of each part of the refrigerating machine. A Fortran program has been created to calculate the thermodynamic properties of the main fluids, like water, air, and the refrigerant used in the plant. This model has been used to examine the potential energy savings in a cold store in Morocco.
