Summary

The following treatments were used: 1) conventional room (SSV); 2) room with wide opening windows and a curtains system (ROC). Fifty-two sows of the Landrace and Large White breed were distributed at random into two lots of 26 animals. Comfort parameters were estimated. The treatments ROC and SSV showed thermally similar environments. Pig nurseries with wide opening windows and curtains and nurseries with conventional rooms provided good conditions for lactating sows in the winter.
