EVACUATED SELECTIVE SOLAR COLLECTORS OPERATING IN ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS.

MISE EN OEUVRE DE CAPTEURS SELECTIFS SOUS VIDE POUR LES SYSTEMES DE REFRIGERATION A ABSORPTION ET DE CONDITIONNEMENT D'AIR.

Author(s) : CHASSAGNE G.

Summary

THE NEW RANGE OF EVACUATED TUBE COLLECTORS GIVE AN EFFICIENCY OF ABOUT 50%. THE REQUIRED TEMPERATURE LEVEL TO PRODUCE A SATISFACTORY COP IS SITUATED BETWEEN 353 AND 423 K (80 AND 150 DEG C) AND THE PRESENT RANGE OF COLLECTORS CAN MEET THIS THERMAL REQUIREMENT. A DEFINITION IS GIVEN OF THE PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF SELECTIVITY TO EXPLAIN NEW APPROACHES TO ACHIEVE SELECTIVE SURFACES WHICH CAN REMAIN THERMALLY STABLE AT TEMPERATURES UP TO 573 K (300 DEG C). VARIOUS CONFIGURATIONS ARE SHOWN FOR COLLECTORS PRESENTLY IN USE AND A CRITICAL COMPARISON IS MADE BETWEEN VARIOUS TYPES BY ANALYSING THEIR SPECIFIC CHARACTERISTICS.
