Summary
The net evaporation rate and hold time of cryogenic storage tanks are subjects of interest regarding tank operation. Various tank sizes and liquid levels were tested and results compared with calculated forecasts. The results of the experiment indicated the total hold time between atmospheric pressure and relief valve set pressure. A mathematical model is proposed, which can be used for liquid distribution logistics and to prevent the tank from being overfilled, depending on the liquid thermal history and consumption rates.
