Experimental investigation of heat and mass transfer characteristics on absorber with enhancement tubes.

Summary
High performance of absorption chiller/heater may be effectively achieved by improving the performance of absorber among heat exchangers. Differently-shaped absorber tubes such as bare tube, bumped bare tube, floral tube, twisted floral tube and a new coated tube were tested. The test results showed that the twisted floral tube and the new coated tube provide a heat and mass transfer performance 40% higher than conventional ones.
