Summary

IT HAS BEEN FOUND THAT GENERATION OF HIGH FREQUENCY OSCILLATIONS IN SUPERCONDUCTING FILMS IN THE RESISTIVE STATE DEPENDS ON A CERTAIN DENSITY OF THE DIRECT CURRENT THAT IS DIFFERENT FOR < NARROW > AND < WIDE > SAMPLES. THE CRITERION WIDTH TO DISCRIMINATE BETWEEN THE TWO CASES IS OF THE ORDER OF THE LONGITUDINAL ELECTRIC FIELD PENETRATION DEPTH.
