Experimental investigation on compressor torque.

Number: pap. ID: 871

Author(s) : REAL M. A., PEREIRA E. A. G.

Summary

The hermetic compressor is the most usual kind of device for domestic refrigeration. Energy segregation is very useful to guide developing efforts. It can be made via simulation and or direct measurement. This work shows an experimental approach to extract the torque behavior of mechanical set during a work cycle of the hermetic compressor. To measure the torque required by the compressor pump a special apparatus was developed and the results indicate that the developed system is able to measure the average torque, as well as instantaneous torque of mechanical set during the operation cycle with accuracy and repeatability.
