Summary

Results of the experimental investigations of the exemplary mini-channel heat exchanger working as a condenser and an evaporator in a compression refrigeration system with propane as a working fluid were presented. The experiments were focused on the measurement of the mean heat transfer coefficient for refrigerant side of the exchanger. Mean heat transfer coefficient was measured by means of a combination of Wilson plot technique and separation of thermal resistances approach. The experiments confirmed the increase of heat transfer coefficient with increase of refrigerant mass flow rate for the tested mini-channel heat exchanger. Dimensionless correlation was proposed for pressure drop for the case of operation of the minichannel heat exchanger as a condenser and an evaporator.
