AN EXPERIMENTAL MODEL OF A FLUX PUMP FOR A SPECIAL SUPERCONDUCTING NIOBIUM-ALLOY FOIL IS DESCRIBED. THE DESIGN FEATURES OF THE PRINCIPAL UNITS ARE CONSIDERED AND THE TEST RESULTS ARE PRESENTED. THE FLUX PUMP PROVIDES A MAXIMUM CURRENT OF 4,100 A AND A < FROZEN > CURRENT OF 3,800A IN THE SUPERCONDUCTING FOIL.
