Summary

The oil cowpeas just picked are carried on preservation freshness processing through decompression in low temperature, humidification and a series of automatic control method. In the experiment, the changes of oil cowpea's quality are extremely close with the conditions of pressure, humidity in which the oil cowpeas are stored. And it is one of the most main works in the experiment to seek for the balance point of the pressure and humidity which is most suitable for storage. The oil cowpeas are carried on preservation freshness processing by decompression conditions of 3 kinds of different intensity's under 9°C. The result indicates that when the pressure of environment is kept at 50 000 Pa and the relative humidity is 60%, oil cowpeas can be preserved for higher rate of merchandise, can be restrained from occurring rusty stains, can be reduced the moisture loss, can be preserved in better appearance colour, can be preserved the quality in the storage period and can be delayed its aging rate. Oil cowpea has a strong seasonal growth and its harvest time is quite centralized. After entering the market, preserve time of oil cowpeas is extremely short. During 5-7 days in normal temperature pods will be loss of moisture content and colour deterioration, which will make them lose the value of merchandise. In recent years, domestic and foreign researchers do substantial work in screening the kidney-bean varieties which have the resistance to storage. But the study on storage technology after picked is rare, and storage conditions of different kidney-bean variety are different. To research the physiology of oil cowpeas after picked, discuss the facts which influent the rot of oil cowpeas and occurrence of rusty stains, reduce the loss in storage and transportation, extend the storage period of oil cowpeas, which will extend market supplies time as a result, are all important to exert its economic benefits and social benefits.
