Summary

An experimental study on pool boiling heat transfer of two enhanced tubes was conducted at a constant evaporation temperature 5°C. Both tubes are enhanced inside and outside. The outer surfaces are similar to the type of TURBO-B enhanced tube. The inside and outside correlations of heat transfer coefficient were obtained by using Wilson plot method. According to the experimental data, the hear transfer performances of the tubes were compared with each other. The effects of the geometry on heat transfer performance of enhanced tubes were analyzed, which combined with profiles of the tubes photographed by metalloscope. It is concluded that the heat transfer performance of triangle shape is higher than trapezoid, the more the ridge is, the higher the inside heat transfer coefficient is. In a range of heat flux, the outside heat transfer coefficient is enhanced, which is related to the size of reentrant cavity, the profiles of surface and so on. The notched surface favours to pool boiling heat transfer.
