Summary

For regeneration of desiccants, a counter-flow packed regeneration tower in conjunction with a humidifier has been designed and constructed. Experimental measurements of the regeneration tower performance utilizing a new cost-effective liquid desiccant mixture CELD (comprised of 50% lithium chloride and 50% calcium chloride by weight) have been carried out. Several summer climatic conditions (dry-bulb temperature of 32 deg C and relative humidities of 60, 70 and 80%) were simulated with air inlet condition to the tower.
