Summary
As the promotion and the applicat ion of NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system, the development of efficient cascade heat exchanger becomes more and more important to improve the performance of the system. Based on the experimental study of a NH3/CO2 cascade refrigeration system, and the analysis of the effect caused by operating condition and the number of heat exchanger tubes on the temperature difference of heat transfer, heat flux and coefficient of heat transfer, we conclude that the heat transfer coefficient of NH3/CO2, cascade heat exchanger is within 1987~2378 W/(m2.K) in engineering design. The experimenl of the cascade heat exchanger is used to optimize the design of heat exchanger. which result in the decrease of heat transfer area by 60% and great reduction of manufacturing cost of cascade heat exchanger.
