Experimental validation of heat pump models.

Summary

The application of heat pumps in a central heating system can be found in myriad configurations. Selection of an optimal configuration/dimensioning for the whole system is nearly impossible without simulation of the dynamic behaviour of the total system. TNO has a dynamic building & installation model, enclosing all the "surrounding" systems of the heat pump. However, a reliable dynamic model of the heat pump system is often not available. A test rig to evaluate the dynamic behaviour of heat pumps is available now. As a spin-off activity of this thorough dynamic test, it is possible to validate existing models and, more important, to develop models of new types of heat pumps.
