Experimentation on refrigerant condensation inside and outside tubes.

Summary

The work reports on the different theoretical models for predicting condensation heat-transfer coefficients inside smooth tubes compared with a wide data bank. A tentative new model for condensation inside micro-fin and low-fin tubes is presented. The theoretical analyses for predicting heat-transfer coefficients during external condensation on horizontal smooth and finned tubes are reviewed. Comparisons are made with experimental data. An experimental investigation on the effects of vapour velocity during external condensation on horizontal tube extended surfaces is also fully reported on.
