Summary
Regulation (EEC) No. 2251/92 of the Commission of the European Communities, of 29 July 1992, brings up to date the provisions on quality inspection of fresh fruit and vegetables marketed in the EEC. This note sets forth the main provisions of that Regulation and of Regulation (EEC) No. 1035/72 on the common organization of the market in fruit and vegetables, on which the first-mentioned is based. It also contains information on the EEC standards for fresh fruit and vegetables and the EEC inspection authorities, comments on quality control in exporting countries, and observations and recommendations with a view to better compliance with Community quality requirements by exporters from developing countries. The annex contains the adresses of all the inspection authorities in the EEC Member countries.
