Falling film heat transfer on a horizontal tube under evaporative conditions.

Summary

Some representative results of an extensive study of heat transfer on a liquid sprayed horizontal smooth tube are presented. Experiments were performed with water both under still and flowing air conditions. Compared to still air conditions, a considerable improvement of the thermal performance of the sprayed tube arrangement is observed under flowing air conditions.
