SIX TEST SHIPMENTS WERE CONDUCTED USING AN INITIAL CHARGE OF LIQUID CO2 TO REFRIGERATE FROZEN FOOD IN INSULATED RAILCARS IN LIEU OF DIESEL-POWERED REFRIGERATION. THE ALTERNATIVE METHOD OF REFRIGERATION WAS DETERMINED FEASIBLE FROM BOTH ECONOMIC AND TECHNICAL VIEWPOINTS.
