Summary
Case studies of the use of R404A in storage refrigeration are presented. It is concluded that R404A as a refrigerant for industrial applications, for large systems (over 1 tonne charge) fitted with low pressure receiver or flooded evaporator for example, is the suitable choice for R502 replacement. It is also fully in line as a replacement for R22 in Europe starting 01.01.2000.
