Summary

ACHIEVING ECONOMY IN THE DESIGN OF HEAT STORAGE SYSTEMS UTILIZING ICE IS SUMMARIZED IN THE PAPER. THEN, 2 ACTUAL EXAMPLES OF UNIQUE SYSTEMS ARE PRESENTED. THE AUTHORS DISCUSS SYSTEM SIMULATIONS CONDUCTED TO FIND THE MOST ECONOMICAL RATIO BETWEEN HEAT SOURCE CAPACITY AND HEAT STORAGE VOLUME (ACCORDING TO BUILDING FUNCTION). THEY CONSIDER 2 CASES: ONE WHERE THE SYSTEM IS USED AS STAND-BY HEAT SOURCE FOR AIR CONDITIONING A COMPUTER ROOM AND THE OTHER IN WHICH IT IS TOLD HOW BEST TO USE THE SYSTEM FOR SEVERAL PURPOSES.
