Finite-time thermodynamic study on solidification process of latent heat storage coolant in a finite dimensional slab.

Author(s) : CHENG D., ZHU M., WANG H.

Summary

Finite-time thermodynamics is used to study and analyse problems with thermal phenomenon in finite time, its objective is to find the optimal performance indexes of the defined route by some mathematical model. Solidification process of latent heat storage coolant in rectangular cold storage slab was investigated by using finite time thermodynamic theory in this paper, and the optimal performance indexes, such as temperature of the wall, solidification rate, and heat flux of the wall, were obtained when the entropy generation in the solidification process reached the minimum.
