Summary
The modelling scheme "tube-by-tube" allows for specification of complex refrigerant circuits, modelling refrigerant distribution between these circuits, and accounting for non-uniform air distribution. Evaporator capacity is obtained based on the simulated performance of each tube in the evaporator assembly using inlet parameters and mass flow rates of the refrigerant and air associated with a given tube. The local data are displayed for each tube on a side view of the heat exchanger identifying tube connections, which facilitates a detailed understanding of the optimized evaporator's design.
