Flow condensation of refrigerants and refrigerant mixtures. Doctoral thesis.

Type of monograph: Thesis

Summary

This thesis is a final report for a project dealing with horizontal flow condensation heat transfer, flow patterns and pressure drop inside tubes. The aim of the project is to test new environmentally friendly refrigerants. The fluids studied are pure and oil-contaminated refrigerants, as well as non-azeotropic refrigerant mixtures based on CFC-free refrigerants (R12, R22, R152a, R134a, R32, R502, R407C, R404A and mixtures of R32-R134a). The experimental results for pressure drop were compared with correlations in the literature data for both local data and overall pressure drop; two new formulas are proposed to correlate the experimental data. The ten papers on which the thesis is based are reprinted in the appendix.
