A RESPONSE TIME CORRELATION RELATES THERMAL RESPONSE TIME, T, AND THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT (H). USING THIS CORRELATION AND EXPERIMENTALLY OBTAINED RESPONSE TIMES, A NUMBER OF HEAT TRANSFER CORRELATIONS HAVE BEEN ANALYSED. THOSE CORRELATIONS NOT PROVEN VALID FOR LOW REYNOLDS NUMBERS MAY NOT GIVE SATISFACTORY AGREEMENT BETWEEN T AND L/H FOR THESE REYNOLDS NUMBERS. THE CHURCHILL-BERNSTEIN CORRELATION COVERS A WIDE RANGE OF LOW AND MODERATE REYNOLDS NUMBERS. IT IS SUGGESTED THAT TO OBTAIN PARAMETERS FOR THE RESPONSE TIME CORRELATION, A BAND OF STRI E T L/H DATA FOR A THERMOMETER.
