Summary
INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN FISH HAS INCREASED IN IMPORTANCE IN RECENT YEARS. WORLD RESOURCES OF FISH SHOULD INCREASE IN VALUE. SUBSTANTIAL IMPROVEMENTS WILL HAVE TO BE MADE IN THE FREEZING AND TRANSPORT OF FISH INCLUDING UNDERUTILIZED SPECIES. THERE ARE THREE CRUCIAL AREAS IN WHICH DEVELOPMENT IS NEEDED, AS FOLLOWS: IMPROVEMENT IN FISH PRODUCT QUALITY, PRESERVATION OF A WIDE RANGE OF FISH SPECIES, SAVING OF ENERGY.
