FRICTION IN THE INDUSTRIAL REFRIGERATION RECIPROCATING COMPRESSORS.

Summary

FRICTION IS A PARAMETER WHICH IT IS DIFFICULT TO DETERMINE ANALYTICALLY WITH ACCURACY. THE PAPER REPORTS TESTS ON RECIPROCATING COMPRESSORS WITH SWEPT VOLUMES OF 0.0118 TO 0.167 M3/S, AT 750 TO 1,500 RPM AND A DIFFERING NUMBER OF CYLINDERS (4.6 AND 8). THE RESULTS ARE GIVEN BY MEANS OF THE SIMILARITY THEORY IN DIMENSIONLESS EQUATIONS MAKING IT POSSIBLE TO ANALYSE THE EFFECT OF THE DIFFERENT PARAMETERS ON THE FRICTION POWER.
