Frost hardiness of commonly grown potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L.): effect of temperature.
Résistance au froid des pommes de terre cultivées (Solanum tuberosum L.) : effet de température.
Author(s) : LE C. L., COLLET G. F.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Potato minicuttings, in vitro cultured under alternating-temperature periods (18 deg C/day and 3 deg C/night) for two months developed frost hardiness. Exposure to an alternating-temperature during the first period of cold-hardening followed by a low-temperature period (3 deg C) is required to induce frost-hardiness capacity.
