Summary

The market scale of frozen food produce and consumption is growing each year in Japan. In 1996, consumption of frozen food, sum of national produce and imported frozen vegetables, was over 2 million tons, 30% of which was imported from USA, China, Canada and more than 32 other countries. Institutional use such as hotels, restaurants, schools, take away meal, etc. is bigger than home use.
