Summary
The floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) is the offshore equivalent of the onshore LNG receiving terminal. LNG, which is supplied to the FSRU by conventional LNG tankers, is stored onboard in the storage tanks of the FSRU prior to regasification by the onboard regasification system. The regasified natural gas is then piped onshore via a gas pipeline network.
