Further research concerning the hybrid compression heat pumps.

Number: pap. n. 0041

Author(s) : STAICOVICI M. D.

Summary

The Hybrid Compression (HC) concept has been introduced recently by the author in order to increase the heating and cooling applications feasibility. In this work, further research results of the HC heat pumps are presented. The research focuses towards three main directions, i.e. district, cold region and (ultra-high) industrial heating, respectively. The research results, obtained for ammonia and ammonia-water, show that the heating COPs are higher by 10-15 percent as compared to those achieved by the classic mechanical vapor compression heat pumps and the discharge gas temperature is within today compressor operation limits, up to ultra-high heating temperatures of 160-180°C.
