Summary

THE HEAT PUMP HAS A CAPACITY OF 1.2 MW AND IS USED AS A PREHEATER FOR THE DISTRICT HEATING SUPPLY WHICH HAS A WATER SUPPLY TEMPERATURE OF 343-353 K (70-80 DEG C) AND A RETURN OF 313-323 K (40-50 DEG C). THE PLANT HAS TWO CONDENSER SYSTEMS CROSS COUPLED TO THE COMPRESSORS, AND THE HEAT SOURCE IS CURRENTLY AIR. THE EVAPORATOR HAS A FIN AREA OF 5,500 M2 WITH 7 MM SPACING, THE FAN IS 7.1 M DIAMETER AND THE MAXIMUM NOISE LEVEL IS BETWEEN 35 AND 45 DECIBELS. ON A TEST RUN, THE HEAT OUTPUT WAS 615 MWH WITH A CORRESPONDING GAS CONSUMPTION OF 359 MWH. THE FIGURES WERE CORROBORATED IN LATER TESTS. G.R.S.
