Generalized method for maximum heat transfer performance in two-phase closed thermosyphon.

Author(s) : GOLOBIC I., GASPERSIC B.

Summary

On the basis of comprehensive experimental results and data set available in the literature, the effects of dimensional parameters were analyzed. The generalized method for maximum heat transfer performance in a two-phase closed thermosiphon based on thermodynamical corresponding states principle was developed. The method enables the determination for fluids, where thermodynamic and transport properties are not known, needing only molecular weight, critical temperature, critical pressure and acentric factor. From the point of view of maximum heat transfer performance in two-phase closed thermosyphons, R134a is an appropriate substitute for the environmentally more harmful R12.
