Summary

This guide, produced by the plastic packaging Committee and the flexible packaging processing industries union, proposes the means for ensuring hygiene control in the plastic packaging and complex flexible packaging in contact with foodstuffs manufacturing sector. Application of the HACCP principles makes it possible to propose means and procedures to the packaging manufacturers. The first part of this guide presents the specific good hygiene practice recommendations. This part concerns in particular the premises and the equipment, the staff and visitors, the management of the materials and the materials crushed during manufacturing. The second part concerns the implementation of a control and monitoring system of the specific food safety risks by applying the HACCP principles, on the basis of the guidelines proposed by the Codex Alimentarius.
