Summary

These proceedings contain the 53 papers (40 in English, 12 in French, 1 in Italian) of a symposium held in Ljubljana, from 2 to 4 October, 1991, under the auspices of the Government of Slovenia and of the Slovene Academy of Sciences and arts. The themes are divided into 10 sections: general, law and economics, transport, insurance; customs, customs transit and automation; medico-sanitary, veterinary and phytosanitary inspections; protection of public order, safety, environment, cultural heritage, intellectual, industrial and commercial property; control of conformity with the technical standards; control of quality; conclusions and press release. A section on works, papers and documents prior to the symposium (about 100 pages) is translated into French.
