Heat and mass transfer under simultaneous frosting.

Summary
Difficulties in formulating a general expression for heat and mass transfer with simultaneous frosting lie in two regions, inside and outside of the frost layer. The former concerns prediction of the properties of the frost, while the latter depends on the mechanism of the phase change process of vapour into fog or snow in the boundary layer. The article describes the frost growth and heat and mass transfer from humid air to a cold vertical plate under natural convection. In the mechanism of the frost formation, the phase change process from water vapour in the humid air to the solid frost is involved. This article, in particular, focuses on the thermodynamic equilibration in the phase change process of the vapour.
