Summary

ONE WAY TO COMPENSATE FOR THE HEAT GAIN FROM THE GROUND AND THE RUNNING OF THE FANS IN POTATO STORES IS TO HUMIDIFY INFLOW AIR. THE AUTHORS GIVE ANEQUATION FOR DETERMINING THE YIELD OF A HUMIDIFIER DURING THE PERIOD WHEN POTATOES ARE BEING COOLED WITH OUTSIDE AIR. THEY PROPOSE A COMBINED HEAT-AND-HUMIDITY TREATMENT, WHICH WAS USED IN A POTATO STORE NEAR MOSCOW. M. C.
