Heat exchangers in carbon dioxide cascade systems.
Author(s) : STENHEDE C.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The paper gives a comparison of carbon dioxide and some refrigerants which all could feasibly be used in the low-temperature stage of a cascade system at temperature levels found in supermarkets, cold stores or food processing plants. The result shown that in this temperature range, condensing at around -10°C and evaporating at around -40°C, carbon dioxide is an excellent refrigerant, in some cases the only possible to use.
